Founded in 1924 by civils servants from the ILO and the League of Nations (the precursor to the UN), Ecolint is presented as being the world’s first ever international school and the most diverse in the world with 140 nationalities and 80 mother tongues. The school has about 4500 students and comprises 3 campuses in the cantons of Geneva and Vaud: La Grande Boissière in Geneva, La Châtaigneraie à Founex, and the Campus des Nations in Grand-Saconnex.
Both english and french education is taught and the students can choose either the French Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate, the IGCSE and IB Diploma or the Swiss maturité programme.
The 3 sites also offer a large program of extra-curricular activities, recreational and competitive sports, a new STEM Centre for science and mathematics learning and various other facilities.
